About this position
Caring for patients when the primary obstetricians aren’t available; Assisting with LSCS; Assisting with neonatal resus; Birthing management for any unallocated patients or those from out of town; Managing antenatal and postnatal patients when called by the midwife. The GPO role is on call 24/7. Medical officer MUST have an NPC within 12 months and a valid WWCC (or proof of obtaining one). Current ASL2 (or equivalent – “RESP”) is a standard requirement for SA Credentialing – Booking confirmation/evidence will be accepted if within 3 months of placement for interim credentials.
