  • ASTs in Emergency
  • Remote Medicine
  • or Internal Medicine preferred
  • previous experience in Rural Emergency Departments preferred
  • 8 x 10 hours shifts per fortnight
  • weekday and weekend on-call: 3-4 shifts per fortnight
  • 10-hour shifts (weekdays and weekends)
  • on-call: 1:2 or 1:3 (included in the daily rate)
  • ALS2 and IeMR training preferred
  • if IeMR training is required
  • this will be done face to face at the Townsville University Hospital
  • Level 3 (CSCF) Rural Hospital
  • non-birthing
  • 23-bed facility
  • Emergency & ambulatory services available (x-ray
  • clinical pharmacy
  • physiotherapy
  • and more)
  • typical ED occupancy: 60-70% (with variable complexity
  • most category 3/4)
  • ambulatory services include community health nursing
  • child health nursing
  • midwifery group practice (non-birthing)
  • advanced health workers
  • physiotherapy
  • occupational therapy
  • speech pathology
  • and social work onsite
  • requirements: all candidate submissions must include a current CV
  • current CPD evidence
  • and two (2) recent
  • signed referee reports
  • completed within the last six (6) months
  • at least one (1) reference must be either a direct supervisor or senior medical officer who has had direct clinical observation of the candidate in the requested specialty
  • candidates will only be submitted when all documentation is received
  • hours of work: in accordance with the customers roster
  • a working day will be no less than 8 hours
  • meal breaks are not paid
  • and the Locum Medical Officer is required to take at least 30 minutes unpaid meal break per shift. Benefits: Onsite housing provided
