GP VMO ED + Primary Care Clinic + Best Practice. GPVMO ED: Tullamore
Doctor must hold fellowship with RACGP or ACRRM.
Role information: GP with Emergency Department Experience, managing locum placement in Rural GP Practice with on call for 2 ED beds, 4 Inpatient Acute Beds and 12 RAC Beds with ED.
GP Practice Hours 0900-1700 2 days per week
Hospital On-call requirements:
– 0800-2000hrs: 1st on-call for all Triage Categories, inpatients and residential aged care
– Being sole doctor for primary care clinic (weekdays only)
– 2000-0800hrs: 1st on-call for all Triage 1-3 patients and any deteriorating inpatients. An in-person review of Triage 4-5 patients during this time will be at your discretion, however you will be required to attend for any patient at the request of a senior nurse, VRGS or vCare regardless of triage or inpatient status.

- GP with Emergency Department Experience. Must have completed Rural eMeds training and provide certificates prior to commencement. Medicare Provider number requirements: The Doctor needs to have full billing rights under Medicare Provider Number for both Practice and MPS Information on site: Tullamore Multipurpose Service (MPS) has 2 emergency department beds and 24 hour emergency department
- 4 inpatient beds and 12 residential aged care beds and community health services including child and family health nursing
- support for lymphoedema and pathology services with point-of-care testing. This facility also has a Medical Centre with a onsite Dr 2 days per week that is co-located to the Tullamore MPS . GP appointment presentation are between 20-25 a day & using Best Practice software. Visiting services include dental
- breast care nursing
- diabetes care
- podiatry
- women's health
- physiotherapy and psychology support. The staff at Tullamore are known for being friendly and welcoming and providing great health services to their close community. Tullamore is a 1 hour drive from Parkes and a 1 hour and 30-minute drive from Dubbo. Parkes has direct flights to Sydney and return daily. Travel and Car Hire: A Hospital Car is available for your use whilst in the T’s. Travel to be booked by agency.
