Overview

Wyong Hospital – Mental Health is a specialised psychiatric facility co-located with Wyong Hospital on the Central Coast of NSW. With approximately 30 mental health beds across various units, the service provides comprehensive psychiatric care including acute inpatient services, community mental health programs, and specialised older persons’ mental health services. Operating as part of Central Coast Local Health District’s mental health network, the facility employs multidisciplinary teams of psychiatrists, mental health nurses, psychologists, social workers, and occupational therapists to deliver integrated care. Located in Hamlyn Terrace, the mental health service provides both inpatient treatment for acute psychiatric conditions and community-based care through its outpatient clinics and home-based treatment teams. The facility has developed specialised expertise in aged psychiatry, offering targeted services for older adults with mental health conditions and behavioral symptoms of dementia. Wyong Hospital – Mental Health works closely with other mental health facilities across the Central Coast, forming part of a networked approach to mental healthcare that provides appropriate levels of support across the continuum from acute crisis to recovery and community living.
