Nepean Hospital is a major tertiary referral facility serving Western Sydney and the Blue Mountains. With approximately 600 beds, the hospital provides comprehensive quaternary services including emergency care, trauma services, intensive care, specialised surgery, cardiology, neurosurgery, cancer care, maternity, pediatrics, mental health, and rehabilitation. Operating under Nepean Blue Mountains Local Health District, Nepean Hospital is currently undergoing a major $1 billion redevelopment to significantly enhance its capabilities and infrastructure. The hospital serves one of Australia’s fastest-growing populations with a catchment area of approximately 400,000 people across Penrith, the Blue Mountains, and parts of the Hawkesbury. Nepean Hospital features the only Level 6 neonatal intensive care unit in the region alongside specialised centers for cancer treatment, cardiac services, and trauma care.
