Bendigo Health is the major regional referral center for the Loddon Mallee region of Victoria, serving a population of over 300,000 people across a vast geographic area. With approximately 700 beds across its facilities, Bendigo Health provides comprehensive tertiary-level services including emergency care, intensive care, surgery, medicine, cardiology, oncology, maternity, pediatrics, mental health, rehabilitation, and aged care. The organisation’s main campus underwent a major $630 million redevelopment, opening in 2017 as one of Australia’s most modern regional hospitals. Bendigo Health features a comprehensive cancer center, cardiac catheterisation laboratory, integrated mental health facility, and extensive teaching facilities supporting its role in healthcare workforce development. The organisation operates numerous community programs and satellite sites throughout the region, serving as the hub for healthcare across central Victoria.
