Role is required 2 days per week- Tuesday and Wednesday- days are not flexible.
CL service across JHH/Maitland and Belmont covers ED in addition to the wards and the psychiatrist would be expected to support clinical decision making about patients in the ED either by directly seeing patients with the clinicians including registrars or indirectly by discussing patients and taking clinical responsibility for psychiatric management of those patients.
JHH adult CL services cater to JHH and Rankin Park rehabilitation services with around 700 beds. The CL team has well established relationships with all the departments .
We have a very well-functioning MDT which meets every morning, but they would like clinical leadership and support from a psychiatrist especially in managing complex patients and providing staff support across the hospital when requested.
The psychiatrist would also be involved in MDTs across the hospital whilst managing complex patients including those with serious psychotic/mood and severe personality disorders.
